The expanded capability robotic survey layout device the SLP2 is a complete device the uses the superior PLS3 plumb bob laser and a special 360 robotic prism that matches Trimble's 360 prisms factory offset.
The SLP2 will provide up to 3 times overall accuracy, productivity and capability. The SLP2 will save man hours and expand the users abilities. The SLP2 is designed for layout indoors on floor or ceiling. It works well outdoors on corrugated steel, large pan waffle decks and any uneven surfaces. It is well rounded, and works consistently in many challenging situations. The SLP2 has the fastest learning curve and best potential for usefulness compared to other layout techniques.
Key features include:
-Easy to mark laser dot offset from the prism pole.
-Higher accuracy then just the prism pole.
-Provides layout information on the floor and ceiling at the same time.
-Accuracy is not reduced by having the target/prism raised up to 6' to 7' to provide a good line of site.
-The layout point can be navigated the same way with just a prism and pole, but with the SLP2 the last 1.5" inches the pole can be tipped to the correct spot reducing over all layout time. Technicians find it very fast and easy to achieve high 1/16" or 1/32" tolerances during layout.
-If conditions for floor layout don't work because of water, gravel, ice etc. layout can be done overhead without changing anything on the robot or prism pole.
-As-built info overhead can be impossible to collect in a packed ceiling of mechanical's but, it works well with the SLP2 because the laser dot is easy to align strait up to the boxes, pipes and valves.
-Important Robot setup checks are easy because the overhead structure alignment can be observed before, during and after layout is done. This will reveal a bad robotic station setup or a change in structure not normally noticed while using traditional layout methods. SLP2 makes it easy by just looking up at any time.
-CNC process for high tolerances
-Fully adjustable mounting to provide a tight fit and proper calibrations that hold up to daily use.
-Top and bottom are made of 6061 aluminum, the screws are 7075 aluminum and the sides are 304 stainless
-Center of pivot on plumb bob and the prism center are under 2 in, this a key factor in the performance of this devices layout. If SLP2 is at a height of 6.5' and the top of the pole is tipped 2" from level the error we found to be less than 1/32" for layout tipping the pole a 1" no detectable error found.
-Fits neatly in the same case as a S6 based robot, no extra things to carry, or a pelican case if needed optional.
SLP2 will be factory calibrated but, if needed please contact All Sky Energy for proper calibrations. Calibrations are easy and are done in two steps: leveling the pole and then testing with the robot.
